Dinorwic Mill Cottage is a typical mountaineering club hut. It was purchased in the mid 1960s, when it was more or less a ruin, but has been improved over the years and is now arguably the most comfortable of its kind in Snowdonia.
Non club users of the hut should note that we enjoy very good relationships with our neighbours and that any complaints we hear about any nuisance will result in those people being blacklisted.

The hut has three main areas:

A. Sleeping quarters with bunk and 'alpine style' beds for up to 12 people. Note that this is the only sleeping accommodation and that it is totally shared.

B. A central lounge, with chairs and two refectory style tables.

C. A services area consisting of kitchen, wash room and toilets and small connecting passageway. This entire area was a new build in the mid 1970s of rendered breeze with a slated roof and wooden ceiling. The wash room has shower (electric) with two WC and wash basins. The wash room has recently been renovated to a high standard.

To the east of the building is a small grassed area that has room for a limited number of tents or a slackline

The hut has a septic tank, mains electricity, and gas for two work-top cooking rings, stove and a wall-mounted boiler in the kitchen that supplies hot water for washing and central heating. There are no open fires. The propane gas supply is refilled professionally as required; it and the gas supply line needs no attention from hut users.
